The short version: we collect as little as we can, we use it only to run this website and our newsletter, and we never sell it.
1. Who we are
XRPL Canada is a non-profit community organization. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit xrplcanada.org, subscribe to our newsletter or contact us. Questions about this policy go to team@xrplcanada.org.
2. What we collect
- Newsletter: your email address and the language you subscribed in.
- Contact form: your name, email address and message.
- Analytics: how the site is used — pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser — through Google Analytics.
- Technical data: IP address and browser information, processed by our hosting and security providers to deliver and protect the site.
3. How we use it
- To send the newsletter you asked for.
- To read and reply to your messages.
- To keep the site secure and working.
- To understand, in aggregate, which content is useful so we can improve it.
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
4. Service providers
We use a small number of trusted providers to run the site. Each processes data only to provide its service to us:
- IONOS — website hosting and database.
- Cloudflare — content delivery and security.
- Resend — sends our emails and stores the newsletter subscriber list.
- Google Analytics — website usage statistics.
Some of these providers store or process data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local law.
5. Cookies
We use a cookie to remember your language choice, and Google Analytics uses cookies to count visits. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
6. Your choices and rights
Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link. You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing team@xrplcanada.org; we respond within 30 days. Canadian privacy law, including PIPEDA and, for Quebec residents, Law 25, gives you these rights. You can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
7. How long we keep it
- Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe.
- Contact messages: up to 24 months.
- Google Analytics data: 14 months.
- Server and security logs: as set by our hosting and security providers, typically no more than 30 days.
8. Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
